This info is already part of the Dual Boot documentation,
but since the question comes up often enough...

If you have a dual-boot system (Win9x/ME and NT/2000/XP)
and you rebuild the Win9x/ME partition, you will find
yourself unable to boot into NT/2000/XP.

Here's what you need to do to repair this situation:

WINDOWS NT

1. Boot from the NT CD
2. Choose "Repair"
3. Select "Inspect Boot Sector"
4. Reboot

WINDOWS 2000/XP/2003

1. Boot from the 2000/XP CD
2. Choose "Emergency Repair Console"
3. Logon to your installation in CLI mode
4. Use FIXMBR at the prompt
5. Reboot (by typing EXIT)

PERSONAL NOTES

• You can also use the FIXMBR option in the Recovery
  Console in Win2K/XP/2003

• For maximum effect, Win9x/ME and NT/2000 should be
installed on different partitions, which eliminates
operating issues, and greatly simplifies the removal
  process.
